We at Mi Patio grew up with the Yucatan Habits and Way of Life -
a connection between Mayan Culture and Tradition
All our hammocks are 100% handcrafted by a community of around 400 Mayan artisans who learn from their predecessors the art of weaving.
It is not a job but more a social activity and a way to communicate with their fellow people, aside of their daily household activities.
Depending on the hammock size, the model and weather conditions, the artisans weave between 2 to 6 weeks to finish one single piece of art.
For us at Mi Patio is important not only to keep their heritage alive but to offer them sustainability and better opportunities for the new generations promoting fair trade conditions. We look forward to combat poverty by spreading their legacy all around the world.
